Raisin Township has chosen Steven’s Disposal as our preferred vendor for the Bag-n-Tag service. This service once offered to seniors is now available to all residents. The service gives the resident the ability to pay per bag of garbage without any long term agreements. The ideal customer for Bag-n-Tag would be someone that has a small amount of garbage and requires pickup on a more irregular basis, for example once every two weeks instead of once a week. If you are placing your trash out once a week, the regular service is actually a few dollars per month less.
The tags are located at the Township Hall on Gady Rd. and Occidental Hwy. for a fee of $2.75/tag. You must register your name and address on the first initial purchase so that Steven’s disposal can add your address to their collection route. If you have a tag but have not registered, Steven’s will not collect your bag. You must register the actual address for which the bag is to be picked up, and the green adhesive sticker must be attached to the bag. Trash collection takes place every Friday.
Available only to residents who live on public gravel roads. Please contact the office at 517-423-3162 for more information.
Raisin Township has partnered with Tecumseh Township to offer to those residents a 24/7 recycle center. We accept broken down cardboard, plastics, glass, newspaper and magazines.
Please help us keep it open by being considerate and only using the appropriate recyclable materials and also by keeping it clean.
The facility is monitored by video surveillance, and anyone placing hazardous materials or rubbish into the containers will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Modern Waste and Steven’s disposal now offer curbside recycling to the residents of Raisin Township. The service is not affiliated with the township and information regarding curbside recycling should be obtained directly from those Companies. Currently Steven’s Disposal offers a tote for recyclables which is picked up every other week. Modern Waste offers weekly service however the resident must place recyclables in a clear bag, and place in regular trash, Modern separates the recyclables from the regular trash at their facility. You do not have to separate the recyclable materials from one another, just from the regular trash. These companies offer a list of what is considered acceptable recycled materials, but in general, paper products, cardboard, plastic, cans, plastic bags, kitchen cookware, glass, phonebooks.
